For control modules: Once the LSID holder has purchased the Module programming subscription, he or she will sign into SDD as normal, then the Trust Centre sign in will come up and the user will need to enter his LSID# and password. Then TOPIx will verify with the NASTF servers and grant security access if all is good. The user will then use SDD normally and any security functions requiring a LSID holder will be visible. For Keys: Transponder keys are ordered through the Direct From Supplier (DFS) system on InfoTrail (Under Parts Special Order - DFS & Key Guide) and the VIN is burned into the key prior to shipping to the retailer. This makes it so the part cannot be used on any other vehicle. The only part at present that is coded at the retailer is the Activity Wristband for Jaguar and Land Rover. The machine to burn the VIN into these has not been provided into the NA Market yet. But these are still ordered through the DFS like a key and once the machine arrives will also be VIN burned before being sent out. The cut code for a mechanical key is currently supplied-no charge-only to NASTF VSPs who reside in California; and the process that requires a fax-in form is separate from the SDD-Security subscription. Orders for MB keys are placed with MBUSA using the ONLINE CALIF KEY FORM. The key is cut, programmed and mailed. DAS4 system keys are available but an authorized franchise dealer technician is the only MB-provided option to activate the new key. MB security items including keys are considered theft-relevant parts (TRP). MBUSA offers aftermarket access to their Theft-Relevant Parts.
